Ahhh! I’m 21, it sounds so weird to say this. Another year older and another year wiser perhaps?! *she says pulling a face*
I had the most fabulous birthday, hence why the blogging scene has been lagging recently. But since University is over, I will have more time on my hands to blog the pants off you! So firstly I would love to thank everybody for making my birthday so very special. I’m not one of those cringe worthy people that upload pictures of all their birthday prezzies (sorry if this is you), so don’t expect this in my post.
*Sorry for the quality of photos, I’m not a professional. I take photos in the moment, I don’t take staged photographs*
So after rushing to finish my assignment on the thursday I headed down the Birmingham for my weekend antics to begin. Dottie (the puppy) and myself traveled the two hour journey from Northampton singing along to some tunes. We finally arrived home late in the evening and eagerly awaited for my two best friends to drive the four hour journey from Blackpool and Burnley to see me. They arrived at nearly midnight and we chatted and ate before we went to bed.
We had to wake up pretty early to get the train from my village to Birmingham Moore street and then walk to Birmingham New street. We had to run to the station as we were running slightly late. We then realised that Beth’s clock was bloody fast! Ahhha.. But when were on the train from Brum to London, my friend Josie (Girl from Blackpool) got the prosecco out and the chocolate cake which was surrounded by chocolate fingers- which we played roulette with, as only two were proper chocolate fingers. Beth (Girl from Burnley) had a little sleep and we later arrived in London.
After a quick 30p wee and the purchase of a London tube day ticket we took the tube to our hotel. On route we saw a very rough looking Chloe Jasmine (For those of you who don’t know who this is- she’s from Xfactor, that posh girl, the girl who had a thing with stevie— Ahh you remember now). We got off the tube and decided to walk left, after we didn’t know where we were going. And who does my friend Josie see; none other than Andy Jordan! Ahhhhh (Total crush!!). (MADE IN CHELSEA DRRR!!)
He stopped after we pointed and ran over to him (the poor guy). “I’ll call you back”. He said on the phone! I was totally fan girling at this point. We had our photos taken, a quick chat, followed by him asking for my name and me telling him how I saw him in Birmingham. This boy literally made my birthday! So thanks Andy ;).. you cutieee!
So after we checked in and left our very heavy bags (BETH!!!) we headed for our london adventure. I can’t remember exactly where we went from here as I’m shit at remembering London names and it was all just a bit of a blur from the prosecco, Andy Jordan and just the general Buzz of london. But what I do know is that we ended up down some cobbled streets in the back alleys of london at the most perfect restaurant. It was called Mayfair Pizza; Interested? Check there website ‘here’– You will not be disappointed. I shared the Bruschetta with Josie, which for those who know me understand how much I appreciate good Bruschetta. I was not disappointed. Followed by a chicken pizza (delicious). Beth had mac and cheese with crab and chips with truffles and Josie had a bit of everything; Salt and Pepper squid, Salad, Mac and cheese, my pizza and chips with truffles… Amazing! The atmosphere and view was beautiful.
So after food we carried on exploring and later ended up at the hotel getting ready to go out to see the show Miss Saigon. I was surprised from the shower with birthday balloons and banners. The cuties! (I have the bestest friends ever), we all got dolled up and took the tube to the theatre.- Sorry that this sounds so much like my diary!
We watched the performance Miss Saigon, which really was fantastic. I won’t say anymore, because I don’t want to spoil it.. but it truly was amazing. Go and book tickets!!! Have a look here;
After a few tears, I mean from the rain! *NO SPOILER*. We took shelter in a cute little restaurant called ‘Muriels Kitchen”.. MMM.. the food is amazing. Have a little look ‘here‘. My friends always says the smaller the menu the better the food. She is right. This had an urban rustic kitchen kind of look. The food was to die for, so was the waiter! This restaurant also had cute swinging chairs that we couldn’t help but give a try.
I had the Gooey baked Cambert with a cashew crunch, Josie had the Chargrilled salmon steak with Roasted Beetroot and Caramelised apple salad and Beth had the Slow Roasted BBQ Pulled Pork sliders. Beth finished it off with some Brownies.
So after a lovely meal and a few flirtatious exchanges between the Italian waiter we went to a bar and stayed out till half two. We later returned to the hotel and slept on the most comfiest bed ever.
We woke up fairly early and caught the tube to Covent Garden where we had breakfast whilst listening to a street performer singing songs from Musicals followed by a group of violinists. A perfect way to spend breakfast.
We watched street performers had a look around the markets bought a cute Bandana for my little pup and soaked up London atmosphere. I also had a little wonder in the Moomin shop (which I loved)
We then headed to the tube station to check out Camden.- Which I am now in love with. This is my kind of place! I wish we could have spent more time there, but I loved every moment of it. London is truly an amazing place, we enjoyed mojitos in the sun, shopped around and embraced London life.
Camden is definitely a place I want to revisit. So after a cute look around the market. We headed back to the train station and eventually back home in Birmingham. We ended the evening in the hot tub with my boyfriend, the girls and lots of alcohol. Best Birthday weekend in London!!
